Play with freedom: Michael Clarke displays message to Australian teammates for the duration of World Cup 2015 win
Former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke published his message to his teammates throughout the 2015 World Cup triumph announcing that he requested the 'superstars' to 'play with freedom'.
"My message all through the entire match used to be 'play with freedom'," Cricket.com.au quoted Clarke as saying.
"The factor about the squad we picked is we had so many superstars who desired to be on the huge stage," he added.
On this day, 5 years ago, Clarke rallied his troops to a seven-wicket victory over New Zealand which exceeded Australia its fifth World Cup title.
Steve Smith, Mitch Starc, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Mitch Marsh featured in the prevailing squad led by using Clarke.
Clarke stated he desired to enable these x-factor gamers to get on stage and exhibit the world how true they are.
"There used to be a lot of large egos on the crew and they desired the better game, better crowd, greater moment," Clarke said.
"For me it used to be about our education and education being so necessary due to the fact then all I desired to do was once enable these x-factor gamers – Faulkner, Maxwell, Warner, Starc, Smith – these superstars to get on stage and exhibit the world how excellent they are, and it's what happened," he added.
